Botta's pocket gopher peeking out of his hole, being very mindful of hawks above
One of many meadow mice, called Voles now scurrying around the fields and trails
Dark-eyed junco catching an insect for a morning snack
Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk on the hunt for small birds and gophers roaming the hillside
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
Mt Wanda, Alhambra Ave, Martinez, California 94553, United States
Acorn Woodpeckers on one of the many granary trees on Mt. Wanda in Martinez. These busy birds live in large groups, hoarding acorns and wedging them into holes for later use. Their unique "waka-waka" call can be heard quite often on the trails of Mt. Wanda.
